CHILDRENS MUSEUM OF MANHATTAN
World of Games Exhibition
The Children's Museum of Manhattan is a five floor museum where children can visit educational exhibitions about culture, math, science and the arts. CMOM creates experiences where they transform the environment so the children can let their imaginations run wild.
The World of Games Exhibition offers visitors and children to become fully immersed into the environment. Gigantic scrolls guide your way through along with a scroll map. You can collect stickers from the countries you have visited and place them on the map as a souvenir. The games on display are designed based on which country and city they originated from. Children will be able to learn about the culture, history and how to play the games simultaneously.
Role-play will be a main component utilized to further add to the experience. Roles of the indigenous people that lived during the time will be played by actors from the actual country. The role-playing characters will be able to explain the game-play and history of each region. This helps to understand the games and how they connect to the culture more accurately.
After playing the game you can answer basic multiple choice questions and get print out stickers to collect on the scroll picked up during entry. You can then enter the creative world and draw on touch screens connected to screens mounted on the wall. You can watch live drawings in action while the children let their imaginations run wild.
Visitors are able to have fun and learn about the history of the games, countries and cultures.
